Tattoo Artist Magazine

By Molly Skobba I have not known Brynne Palmer for a long time, but I feel like I’ve known her for years already. I attribute that to her sweet and open personality. Her sunny disposition immediately puts you at ease and any intimidation seems to melt away. Brynne has been tattooing for almost eight years. She started out at Tattoo Mania in L.A. and currently works at Gold Rush in Costa Mesa, California... She describes herself as a true Southern California girl. If you asked Brynne what she thought of her style in tattooing; she would say she enjoys traditional but that her girlie personality often shows through in her work. Brynne makes great tattoos, and it should come as no surprise that she has some amazing tattoos herself! Some of her favorite tattoos are from Shige, Christine Nelson and Daniel Albrigo. Taking advantage of a last-minute cancellation, she got a chrysanthemum and snake from Shige. Brynne laughs about the story, flying up last-minute, getting tattooed and then passing out on the couch shortly afterwards! Brynne wears a Charlie Chaplain tattoo from Daniel Albrigo and a lotus from Christine, which she jokingly refers to as her first "decent sized tattoo." In addition to these talented artists Brynne sites Don and Debra Yarian, Lindsey Carmichael, Tim Hendricks, Jill Bonny and Nikki Balls and everyone she works with as her influences. On a personal note, Brynne has an adorable pet hedgehog, likes geo caching, camping and woodworking. If she wasn’t a tattoo artist, she would want to be a fine art appraiser and has taken art classes as a teenage. Coincidentally, she took art classes from the owner of Gold Rush Tattoo's father. What a small world! Brynne loves tattooing the traditional style and would prefer not to tattoo Bible quotes on the ribs, anything Hello Kitty, or anything Day of the Dead related. She also would like to build machines one day in the future. If you get a chance, get a tattoo from my friend Brynne! (Brynne can be found at Gold Rush Tattoo in Costa Mesa, CA.)
