I get emails all the time from other tattooers wanting to know how I created my signature look. They often ask what they think are the most obvious questions: Whose machines am I using? What needle type? What brand of pigment? And although I will gladly answer these questions, these are not the kinds of answers that will lead you to a breakthrough in your work; machines and pigments are essential to your working technique, but there are many, many correct answers to those questions- basically, just be sure to buy high quality supplies from reputable suppliers.
The real answers to these questions are much subtler and more complex. I'm happy to answer them- but these are complex answers that require a lot more time and many more words and pictures to get the point across. At the upcoming Worldwide Tattoo Conference in Chicago from April 10-11, I'll be doing just that, and my focus will be on pointing out a few small extra things that you can do to really make a visible difference in your work.
The bottom line is this: How hard are you willing to work to make your tattooing stand out- are you willing to put in a little extra effort that the competition across the street can't make time for? I'll be discussing a handful of simple but revolutionary ideas that you can put to work in your design, stenciling and application processes to make your work smoother, sharper, deeper and more eye-catching. If you are the kind of artist willing to spend a few days taking classes that aren't required, you may already be the type willing to go the extra mile with your tattooing, and we will take this opportunity to talk about how to get the most bang for your buck with that extra effort.
"The Extra Mile Is Never Crowded" is being offered alongside seminars by Nick Baxter, Jeff Gogue, Bob Tyrrell, Alex De Pase and Boris Laszlo, all for an amazing package deal of only $800 per person!
During the final discussion panel all the artist will join the conference participants to discuss the tattoo world.
WWTC is a unique event, never proposed before, do not miss the opportunity to improve the techniques and to compare with the most renowned tattoo artists in the world!
