Tattoo Artist Magazine

By Craig Driscoll The biggest earthquake to shake Japan, since records began almost 150 years ago, hit the country's northeast coast. That and the tsunami that followed has devastated the island nation of Japan. Japanese influence on modern-day tattooing is undeniably vast. The least we can do is some tattooing in return... Dave Allen called not long after the news hit and told me about what he, and a ton of other tattooers were doing to help out. He asked if I could pitch in, so all the guys at my shop agreed. We knew we had to do what we could, and tattooing is what we do best (just look at how poor my writing is). On the May 26th, 2011 we will be doing just that, tattooing for Japan! Five Two Tattoo Shop will be doing small tattoos, hopefully lots of small tattoos! We've collaborated on Japanese inspired flash to tattoo that day. We'll also be auctioning off six paintings (done by the guys at Five Two) and selling prints of the paintings. All proceeds will be donated to IRC [International Rescue Committee] and Peace Winds Japan. All of this will be done in the Five Two way, with plenty of food, drink and a guarantee of a great time. So please come, get tattooed, eat, drink and most of all give! (Craig can be found at Five Two Tattoo) If you, or your shop would like to participate, click on the banner below for more information...
